Antarctica Dessert

The continent of Antarctica is a giant dessert, it receives less than 200 millimetres of snow or rain per year on average. The snow that does fall on Antarctica doesn't melt so it builds up and gets blown inland by the wind and eventually accumulates into glaciers. 

If you lived on Antarctica you would find it hardly ever snows but the small amount of snow in the coastal areas gets blown inland by the wind. If you lived near the south pole, you would probably never see it snow and there would be dry valleys with no ice on them.
