Long before making video games, Mario, or Game Boys, Nintendo started as a small business in Kyoto, Japan, manufacturing handmade Hanafuda (Japanese playing cards). They went on to run playing card tournaments, operate a taxi company, run a chain of "love hotels," and manufacture plastic toys before eventually transitioning into electronic arcade games and home consoles in the late 1970s.

Super Mario Facts
In the game super mario brothers and the sequels, mario doesn't hit his head on the item blocks, he actually hits it with his hand. If you look closely you'll see he actually puts his hand above his head and that is what is hitt the blocks when he jumps.
The Name Mario Comes from a man that was renting warehouses to Nintendo, he was called Mario.
