Suicide more than Homicide

One thing that is consistent around the world is you're more likely to die from suicide and homicide. This is true regardless of what part of the world you live in. Usually you're statistically twice as likely to die from suicide than murder or manslaughter.

After looking through some notible sources 50
Facts that should change the world by Jessica Williams and various world health organisation reports, suicide is one of the most common causes of death.

In young people 15 to 29 years old , suicide is the leading cause of death. This is because young people don't usually die from heart disease or cancer.

It is hard to clarify the exact rate because it varies by country, gender and age group but most sources agree that more the one percent of deaths world wide are from suicide. That's one in one hundred people.

A Way Out

In Great Britain, all bar staff and premises that have a licence to serve alcohol are trained to respond to the phrase "Can I speak to Angela?" or "Is Angela there?". It is a code word for people that are being stalked or feel unsafe because of another person. If you say the phrase, they will take you to the staff room and lock you in there and ask if you want them to call the police or if you just want to wait there for a while until the person goes away or if you need a taxi.

It is the number 116 123; the number will go through to a Samaritans operator that will try help you escape suicidal thoughts or extreme stress without affecting your privacy. If you're  overcome by grief or dread, you can call them up and they will talk to you. The number is free and there are no strings attached.
