British Plug

The British polwer plug, also known as the type g plug is used in over 50 nations around the world from Saudi Arabia to various nations in Africa and even on Hong Kong island. It can handle a current as big as 15 amps but usually has a fuse that blows when the current at 13 amps.

The ground pin at the top of the plug has 4 uses. It works as a key and opens spring loaded shutters for the live terminals as the plug is pushed in. It also turns on the circuit breaker if a strong current flows through it and that prevents electrical fires caused by a short circuit by turning off the whole loop.  It also safely carries an overloaded current back to the main transformer of the building preventing electic shock from a faulty appliance. If that fails the fuse will blow instead. The pin at the top of the plug also creates friction that makes the plug less likely to slide out of the socket unintentionally.

This last week of September could become one of the most exciting of the year so far because they are waking up the chandrayaan 3 probe from sleep mode according to the official mission blog, Chandrayaan 3 blog

The night time on the moon lasts for 2 weeks so the probe had to stop activity because it is solar powered. 

Coca Cola

Apple Tizer, Dr. Pepper( in Europe) , Fanta, Iron Brew, Kia Ora, Oasis, Relentless , Smart Water, Sprite and coke are all brands of the Coca Cola company.

There are all sorts of drinks in the shops that are actually Coca-Cola products. The Relentless energy drink, bottled water known as Smart water, fruit flavoured fizzy drinks like Fanta and Sprite. They're all part of coca cola. 

Sleeping on the Moon

Night time on the moon lasts for about 2 weeks so if they send a solar powered probe it must go onto sleep mode for 2 weeks at a time unless it can store extra power during the day time. 

The recent Charndrayaan 3 probe was forced to go into sleep mode shortly after it landed because of the long moon night. 

Most Painful Sting

According to Coyote Peterson, a man that deliberately gets stung on the arm, the most painful insect sting is from the Executioner wasp and not the bullet ant or Tarantula Hawk wasp

The pain from an Executioner wasp is so painful that his upper arm and hand went into paralysis for a short time. 

Weight Loss

When you lose weight, most of the weight is lost through the lungs.

when you body breaks down fat, it turns it into carbon dioxide that is then exhaled through the lungs. 

Taxi Cheaper than Trains?

It is cheaper for four people to go from High Wycombe Train Station to Marylabone train station by Taxi than by train.

A single trip from high Wycombe costs £16.50 for one person.  By Uber it costs about £40 on average but the car has room for four passengers! If there were four passengers they would only pay £10 each. 

This info is based on my own observations and access to my Uber App. I believe this is true of many other stations.
