Nintendo is older than you Think

Nintendo was founded in 1889—making the company over 135 years old.
Long before making video games, Mario, or Game Boys, Nintendo started as a small business in Kyoto, Japan, manufacturing handmade Hanafuda (Japanese playing cards). They went on to run playing card tournaments, operate a taxi company, run a chain of "love hotels," and manufacture plastic toys before eventually transitioning into electronic arcade games and home consoles in the late 1970s.
