Unusual Chemicals

Water Silicon and Gallium all expand when they solidify. Most materials shrink when they solidify if they're melted. 

Gallium is the only metal that expands when it solidifies. It melts slightly above room temperature at 29.76 °c. It melts in the palm of your hand and if it is in a rigid airtight glass container, it would break the container when it solidifies again.
